Learning Legacy
L&T CMB's journey began with a clear focus on education and skill development. Understanding the pivotal role of hands-on experience, the company sent its executives to international training centres associated with the machinery operated in India. This initiative brought back invaluable knowledge and inspired the establishment of an indigenous training school in Mumbai. This marked the genesis of a 'service culture' at L&T CMB, a culture defined by uncompromising quality and swift service delivery, a culture we are a part of and can be proud of.
As L&T CMB expanded, so did its dedication to training. Establishing the Central Training Centre (CTC) in Kanchipuram and strategically placing Regional Training Centres (RTCs) nationwide created a robust structure for comprehensive training programs. These centres have become the bedrock of L&T CMB’s endeavours, providing specialised training for a wide range of stakeholders, including Customers, dealers, internal employees, and machine operators.
Significant Impact
The influence of L&T CMB's training initiatives is measurable. In the past five years alone, the CTC has conducted nearly 3,000 training programs, benefiting over 50,000 individuals. In the fiscal year 2023-24, more than 11,600 participants were trained through over 600 programs—a remarkable testament to their dedication to empowering their workforce and stakeholders. Customer training lies at the heart of L&T CMB's programs, with specialised sessions tailored to meet specific operational needs. In the past year, they conducted 118 programs, training 2,347 participants over 245 days. Operator training, critical for operational excellence, saw 2,626 individuals trained in 205 sessions. Dealer representatives and internal employees also received dedicated training, underscoring L&T CMB's comprehensive approach.
Innovation and Recognition
Innovation is ingrained in L&T CMB’s ethos. Recent enhancements to their training infrastructure, including adding a lift and hostel facilities at the Kanchipuram centre, highlight their commitment to continuous improvement. They've also introduced new certification programs for welders and internal service teams, issuing 922 certificates in the past year alone. Such efforts have not gone unnoticed, with L&T CMB earning accolades like the "BEST OEM" award for their contributions to the Skill India Campaign.
